Membership

After you've attended an LDStorymakers conference you qualify to be a member of AuthorsIncognito. Once you've joined you can take part in all our mailing lists, activities, classes, and support. Here are a few things we do.

Email Lists

The heart of our group is email lists. This is where we communicate, collaborate, and have fun.

AuthorsIncognito
This is our main list where most of the action is. You can post your recent publishing success or your looming editing problem. We're here for you.

WritersIncognito
This is where we host our online classes. Not only can you join current and future courses, but you can also look into the archives and learn from all our past classes, too.

ChatterIncognito
This is our list for, well, chatter. If there is something you are itching to share, but aren't sure if you really want to bother all your writing friends with it then put it on this list.

IcogQueries
Our list dedicated to the black art of the query. You can always share query-related news and information on the main list, but if you want to get the attention of the query masters, send your message here.

Critique List
Have a story or manuscript that needs critiqued? Want to do some critiques? Great. This is the place for you. It doesn't get a lot of traffic, but that just means there's more time to write.

To join any or all of our lists you need to meet the membership requirements. If you qualify, then simply follow the links above and join the group. You will have to create a Yahoo! username if you don't already have one. Welcome aboard.

Events

The online fun often spills over into real life. We organize impromptu lunch gatherings, dinner parties, and promote book signings.

Each year at the LDStorymakers Conference we host a Mix and Mingle event.

Several of our members organize bigger activities such as our shooting activity (where you can learn about real guns, heft them, and shoot them) and writers retreats (where you can enjoy a few days of single-minded writing).

Storymakers Conference

Want the inside scoop on upcoming Storymakers Conferences? Well, we don't get that information, but we do get all the latest news, access to ask any questions we might have, and we organize a mix-and-mingle during one night of the conference.

Did you love Storymakers and wish it was longer? Yeah, us too. That's why we're here. We keep the same high standards, motivating encouragement, and down-to-earth friendship you experienced at the conference. All while striving to be the best writers we can be.

Networking

We have members from all over and in all stages of publishing. Need help on a tricky scene? Want constructive advice about your cover letter? Curious who the submissions editor for an LDS publisher is? Want to learn how to create a professional synopsis? Or maybe you know all that stuff and want to help others? That's what we're here for.

File Archive

We have a large-ish library of writing resources on our main list under the Files section. There you will find notes from past conferences, actual first chapters that won the Storymakers First Chapter contest, tips on writing and editing, instructions for making the most of your blog or website, links to other great sites, and much more.
